Celador Sells "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" |
Saturday, April 01, 2006 |
Note: This does not affect ABC's "Millionaire" situation. Celador announced that they are selling the rights to the massive international game show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". The show is seen in over 60 countries, though it's tapered off a bit (especially in the USA). Celador is selling the show for an estimated $70,000,000. They could get on the show and win 70 times, but I digress. The company, based out of England, stated that the British host will remain. We don't know how this is affecting the ABC show. ABC is still rumored to lose the rights in May 2006, but we're going for final confirmation with Michael Davies (I know a few people from Embassy Row occasionally read. Can you help us out?) |

Thought this was an April Fool's joke, but there it was in the press area on Celador's site.

So... unless Celador is pulling a prank, this is legit. Wow.
